Chicago’s River North is set to welcome a new neighborhood bar, Gus’ Sip and Dip, in late 2024. This latest concept from Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants combines classic charm with a contemporary edge, paying homage to the iconic Gus’ Good Food, which occupied the same address, 51 W. Hubbard St., from 1906 to 1966.

The bar will be helmed by award-winning Beverage Director/Partner Kevin Beary, known for his work at Three Dots and a Dash and The Bamboo Room, and Chef/Partner Bob Broskey, celebrated for his contributions at RPM Restaurants. Together, they aim to create a welcoming spot for cocktail enthusiasts and late-night diners alike.

Gus’ Sip and Dip’s cocktail menu features 30 reimagined classics, including the White Russian, Amaretto Sour, Irish Coffee, and various martinis. Crafted with premium spirits and priced at just $12 (plus tax), the drinks are designed to be both elevated and approachable, appealing to seasoned connoisseurs and new enthusiasts.

The kitchen, led by Chef Broskey, promises a lineup of tavern favorites such as French dip sandwiches, shrimp cocktail, and a signature tavern-style burger. With late-night hours, Gus’ offers a full dining experience until midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Seating at Gus’ Sip and Dip will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservations required. Those eager to learn more about this exciting addition to Chicago’s bar and dining scene should visitgussipanddip.com.
