The original members of Black Sabbath—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—will reunite for the first time in two decades to headline the Back to the Beginning concert on July 5 at Villa Park, England.

The all-star event will celebrate the pioneering heavy metal band, with Osbourne performing a solo set before rejoining his bandmates for what will be his final performance with Black Sabbath.

“It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Ozzy Osbourne said on the band’s official Instagram account. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”

Formed in Birmingham in 1968, Black Sabbath is widely recognized as one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time, with a career spanning decades and over 75 million albums sold worldwide, according to the band’s website. Their impact on the genre remains as significant today as it was in the early 1970s, with their music shaping generations of metal musicians.

Osbourne’s decision to retire from performing comes after years of health struggles. The musician has undergone seven surgeries in the past five years, including a fourth spinal surgery in September 2023, and has been battling Parkinson’s disease since 2003. Despite these challenges, he remains optimistic about his farewell performance.

Speaking on SiriusXM's Ozzy's Boneyard, Osbourne shared an update on his health and outlook: “You know what, I go on about the way I can't walk and I can't do this, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all of my complaining, I'm still alive.”

He continued in the same radio statement, “I may be moaning about how I can't walk as well but as I look down the road, there's people that didn't do half as much as me, and they didn't make it,” he said. “I'm trying to get back on my feet.”

According to a press release from the band, the concert will also serve as a benefit event, with all profits going to Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

Tickets for Back to the Beginning go on sale February 14 at 10 a.m. GMT (5 a.m. ET) via Live Nation.

My wife was diagnosed of Parkinson’s Disease at age 61. She had severe calf pain, muscle pain, tremors, slurred speech, frequent falls, loss of balance, difficulty in getting up from sitting position. She was put on Senemet for 6 months and then Siferol was introduced and replaced the Senemet. During this time span she was also diagnosed with dementia. She started having hallucinations and lost touch with reality. Last year, our family doctor started her on Uine Health Centre PD-5 formula, 2 months into treatment she improved dramatically. At the end of the full treatment course, the disease is totally under control. No case of dementia, hallucination, weakness, muscle pain or tremors. My wife is strong again and has gone on with her daily activities as I share this experience. I’m surprised a lot of PWP haven’t heard of PD-5 formula. we got the treatment from their website uinehealthcentre. com

My husband had PD-5 programme about 4 months ago. he sleeps soundly, works out frequently, and is now very active. It doesn’t make the Parkinson’s go away but it did give him better quality of life. I’m surprised a lot of PWP haven’t heard of it, we got the treatment from uine health centre
