Nearly three-dozen Chicago eateries will celebrate the first ever Lettuce Entertain You Restaurant Week beginning Monday, September 28. Representing the venerable restaurant group that started with Lincoln Park’s R.J. Grunts in 1971, the diverse collection of venues seem capable of satisfying every appetite from Chicago to the suburbs.
Lettuce Entertain You Restaurant Week will feature three-course lunch and brunch menus starting at $24 per person (plus tax), and three-course dinner menus starting at $35 per person (plus tax). Dinner will include the option of adding wine and beverage pairings. The celebration runs through Sunday, October 4 and applies to both dine-in and carryout orders.
The options at RPM Italian (52 W. Illinois) will include Prime Beef Meatballs, a signature antipasti that has been on the menu “since day one,” according to Partner Kelly Clancy.
“It’s a 100% prime beef meatball served with roasted garlic confit and a pomodoro red sauce,” she said. “It’s warm and filling but still light enough where it’s an appetizer to enjoy the rest of the meal.”
“And who doesn’t enjoy a warm red sauce dish during fall and winter?” she added.
The red sauce is created from fresh tomatoes, garlic, and herbs.
“At RPM Italian, we like to take basic ingredients of the highest quality and allow our guests to enjoy them in a very simple fashion,” said Clancy.
To complement the meatballs, she recommends a glass of red wine, specifically the Campo dei Sogni Chianti Riserva. “It’s going to have the perfect amount of acidity and richness and roundness to pair with our amazing pompodoro sauce.”
RPM Steak (66 W. Kinzie) and RPM Seafood (317 N. Clark) will also be celebrating restaurant week, along with about 27 other Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants in the city and suburbs.
