Which stores are open for shoppers on Christmas Eve

According to USA Today, many stores across America will open on Christmas Eve, although they will close earlier than usual and remain closed on Christmas Day. Major retailers have announced their specific hours, most closing between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Dec. 24. 

Walmart will close at 6 p.m, while Target stays open until 8 p.m. Department stores have varying schedules: Kohl's will operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and JC Penney will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nordstrom will be open, though hours will differ depending on the location. 

The TJX stores, including TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Home Goods, will all follow the same schedule, opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 6 p.m. In home improvement, Home Depot will close at 5 p.m., and Lowe's will stay open until 6 p.m. Ace Hardware stores are independently owned, so they will have different hours at each location. 

USA Today also confirmed that outdoor enthusiasts can visit REI, Bass Pro Shops, and Cabela's, which operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Discount shoppers have several options: Burlington will have extended hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Belk's regular stores and attached outlets will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and other Belk outlets will open later at 9 a.m. Big Lots will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. 

Beauty retailer Sephora's hours will vary based on location and mall hours. For furniture shopping, IKEA has hours from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Office supply stores will close early, with Staples shutting at 6 p.m. or earlier, while Office Depot and OfficeMax will close at 5 p.m. Pet owners can visit PetSmart between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. or Pet Co until 7 p.m.
