Condé Nast Traveler recently released its list of the Top Hotels in Chicago for its 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards, and among the winners were notable names like The St. Regis. The announcement compliments another reason for Chicagoans to celebrate, as the city was also named the Best Big City in the U.S. in the same awards for the eighth year in a row.
The St. Regis has been in the spotlight of Chicago news since its opening, but even more so over the last two years with its opening of two trendy restaurants: Miru and Tre Dita. Japanese fusion restaurant Miru opened in May 2023 and was recently a featured hotspot in this year’s Chicago Gourmet. Italian steakhouse Tre Dita opened earlier this year in March and was named in OpenTable’s Hottest Restaurants in Chicago list in July.
Back in 2020—when Magellan Development Group announced the building would transition from Vista Tower to The St. Regis—the president of Magellan J.R. Berger predicted, “The St. Regis Chicago will be the city’s most desirable destination. Coupled with the Alinea Group, [The St. Regis] aligns with the established caliber of the Vista Tower brand, and our dedication to providing unparalleled luxury for our residents and hotel guests.”
Condé Nast Traveler credits The St. Regis not only for its two restaurants but for its spectacular views, stellar 12,000 square foot Athletic Club, world-class spa, and having a butler for every room, including rooms in the entry-level category.
Other top hotels that made the list include:
- The Gwen
- Four Seasons
- The Peninsula
- Viceroy
- LondonHouse
- Waldorf Astoria
- Renaissance Chicago Downtown
- The Godfrey
- Le Méridien Essex
