The Vista Tower has officially become The St. Regis Chicago, according to a press release issued today.
Magellan Development Group made the announcement after inking a deal with St. Regis Hotels & Resorts and The Alinea Group, which will also become a tenant in the New Eastside building that ranks as Chicago’s third tallest.
“The St. Regis Chicago will be the city’s most desirable destination,” said J.R. Berger, Principal, Magellan Development Group LLC. “The St. Regis, coupled with the Alinea Group, aligns with the established caliber of the Vista Tower brand, and our dedication to providing unparalleled luxury for our residents and hotel guests.”
Besides housing 393 condominiums, The Residences will contain a resident-only amenity floor with a sky terrace and outdoor pool on its 47th story.
The amenity floor will also feature a resident lounge and dining room, a demonstration kitchen, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a conference center, a private viewing room, a golf lounge and a children’s activity room.
The St. Regis Chicago will include 191 guest rooms and several dining options, a lounge overlooking the Chicago River, Sky Bar with outdoor terrace, indoor pool with outdoor terrace, spa, fitness room, ballroom and meeting rooms.

Chicago’s famed Alinea Group will serve as the project’s culinary brand.
“This is truly a ‘born-in-Chicago’ project, and we are excited to be a part of this amazing architectural wonder,” said Alinea Group co-owner and co-founder Nick Kokonas. “We’ve been in discussions with Magellan for several years to determine how we can best partner on this project, and we look forward to bringing our vision to life.”
According to its website, the Alinea Group’s namesake restaurant was named the Best Restaurant in the World by Elite Traveler, the Best Restaurant in North America by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, and the Best Restaurant in the U.S. by Gourmet and Business Insider.
