The X Pot, a futuristic new hot pot restaurant, opens with robot servers and 5D experiences in South Loop.

The X Pot Chicago, which opened today Jan. 12, is a new hot pot restaurant designed to immerse guests in a multi-sensory culinary wonderland. The lavish new restaurant located within the South Loop’s Roosevelt Collection Shops, 150 W. Roosevelt Rd., features a stylish lounge and bar space, hot pot dining complete with robot servers, full sushi bar, VIP room and a state-of-the-art 5D experience room.

The concept recently made its debut at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas and is sure to delight the savvy Chicago crowd as it bridges past culinary traditions with groundbreaking hospitality trends. While drawing inspiration from Asian heritage and culture, The X Pot breaks boundaries with experiential technology including animated light projections, robot servers, thematic soundscapes and ultramodern, sleek decor.

The X Pot strives to shift the perception of American Chinese food by offering a fun Asian-American fusion dining experience with the highest-quality ingredients, such as purebred A5 Wagyu beef flown in daily from Japan and imported fresh seafood. Crafted by Executive Chef Zhibo Ou aka “Chef K,” The X Pot will utilize world-class ingredients along with Chef K’s traditional experience to deliver an elevated take on the Chinese hot pot experience.

Friendly robot servers wait on guests for the entirety of their meal in the 200-seat main dining room, delivering the restaurant’s premium cuts for the hot pot experience. Human waitstaff assist diners and explain the menu, but the robots will do the heavy lifting. The intention behind these robot servers is to enhance each customer’s experience by acting as an assistant to the waitstaff to deliver great customer service. Available exclusively in the 5D Experience Room, ornate, interactive animations are projected right onto each guest’s plate, uniquely paired with each dish in the 12-course meal.

Upon first glance, guests will be stunned at the grand, regal decor and design throughout the space. From luxurious, gilded accents to exquisite and out-of-the-box light fixtures, The X Pot pushes the envelope in all aspects when it comes to decor and design. Designed by De Shun Wang of DWDW, more than half of the pieces utilized in the space are sourced from designers in Southeast Asia, China and Thailand.

“We could not be more thrilled to bring our concept to a city as culinarily adventurous as Chicago,” said David Zhao, Co-Founder of The X Pot. “Our restaurant is a megaphone of our message to bring more cultures together and for people to try new experiences and no longer think of Chinese food as cheap takeout. Dining at The X Pot is truly next-level, and we look forward to bringing this to Chicago audiences.”

The X Pot will be located within the Roosevelt Collection Shops at 1143 S. Delano Court East. For more information or to make a reservation, please visit www.thexpot.com or call (312) 585-8655.
