Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine and Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine are expected to release a new COVID-19 vaccine in the coming days, in order to combat recent and future strains of the virus.
According to a report from the Associated Press, the updated vaccines are designed to offer better protection against the Omicron subvariants, which have become dominant in recent months.
The companies have reportedly been collaborating with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure the vaccines meet the necessary safety and efficacy standards.
The rollout comes as public health officials urge the public to stay vigilant against COVID-19, especially as cooler weather drives people indoors, increasing the risk of transmission.
The updated vaccines are expected to be available in pharmacies and healthcare centers across the city by mid-September.
