The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), Office of Tourism has rolled out its new spring/summer travel campaign and released the latest edition of its Enjoy Illinois magazine, just in time for travel season.

Continuing the state’s award-winning “Middle of Everything” theme, the campaign promotes Illinois’ urban energy, cultural diversity, and picturesque natural landscapes. Featured destinations include Chicago’s skyline, Giant City State Park in Makanda, and the Mississippi River views in Grafton.

“With a focus on dynamic urban energy, diverse experiences, and scenic outdoor adventures, this new campaign showcases the incredible range of experiences waiting for travelers in Illinois,” said DCEO Director Kristin Richards. “Our state is a place where vibrant cities meet breathtaking nature, offering something for everyone—whether you're visiting or calling it home, Illinois is an ideal destination for all.”

The campaign will run across 20 media markets in Illinois and seven neighboring states, in addition to national placements in Denver, San Francisco, and Atlanta. Ads will air on cable and streaming platforms. A robust digital and print media push is paired with out-of-home advertising such as billboards and signage at O’Hare and LaGuardia airports, as well as a digital billboard in Times Square.

The Enjoy Illinois Spring/Summer 2025 magazine is now available in both print and digital formats. It features travel inspiration across the state, from luxury stays in Chicago to outdoor escapes in Southern Illinois. The cover showcases a view of the Chicago skyline from Lincoln Park’s South Pond.

The issue also includes a dedicated pet-friendly section, making it easier for travelers to locate accommodations and attractions that welcome animals.

Highlighting the state’s legendary stretch of Route 66, a 12-page insert titled “The Mother Road at 100” previews centennial celebrations planned for 2026. The feature includes nostalgic diners, quirky roadside attractions, and must-see stops along the historic highway.

“We’re excited to bring the spirit of Illinois to life in the latest edition of Enjoy Illinois,” said Kylee Krizmanic, Vice President and General Manager of Dotdash Meredith Travel Marketing.
