Actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise is bringing his high-energy Gary Sinise Foundation-backed concert experience with his Lt. Dan Band back to the Chicago area this summer for a patriotic evening honoring local veterans and military families.
The West Suburban Foundation for Disabled Veterans will host “Rockin’ For Our Vets America 250” featuring Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band on Saturday, July 11, at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. Organizers say this will be the only ticketed Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band concert of 2026.

Known to many for his role as Lt. Dan Taylor in the Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump, Sinise has spent decades supporting veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders and their families through concerts, outreach programs and charitable initiatives. His Lt. Dan Band regularly performs at military bases and community events across the country and internationally.
The 2026 concert is especially meaningful as it coincides with America’s 250th anniversary celebration. Event organizers describe the evening as “a patriotic night that changes lives,” with proceeds benefiting numerous veteran-focused charities and support organizations.
Last year’s concert at Cantigny drew enthusiastic crowds and featured patriotic tributes, live performances and special appearances honoring veterans and military families, including a appearance by HunterGirl, a dynamic singer, songwriter and musician who was runner-up on American Idol.
