The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago has launched “Flight of Butterflies”, an exciting exhibition series on view at Chicago Park District parks that invites viewers to explore the link between creativity and the natural world.
The colorful installation comprises 29 unique butterfly sculptures designed in collaboration with various Chicago artists.
The installation will include several sculptures along the Magnificent Mile, on view through late next year., according to a statement from the museum.
“The Nature Museum’s work extends far beyond the walls of our building and as these beautiful sculptures take flight across Chicago, we aim to inspire each person who experiences them,” said Nature Museum President and CEO Erin Amico.
“Flight of Butterflies highlights the importance of being nature champions to conserve and protect the environment around us.
The stories told by the talented Chicago artists through these sculptures beautifully portray the significance of having strong ties to nature.”
Flight of Butterflies will expand the Peggy Notebaert Museum’s extensive conservation and educational mission, helping to inspire Chicagoans to engage with nature and cultivate sustainability in their daily lives.
